The Santa Claus community is unique. We are a small town with a rich history that links the generations together. At Key Associates of Santa Claus, we feel blessed to call this town our home. We feel very strongly about giving back and wanted to share just a few of the ways we are showing the love for the people and places in Santa Claus, Indiana, and the surrounding region.
Trails of Santa Claus, Inc.
In 2018, we are continuing our commitment to help the Trails of Santa Claus, Inc. (TOSCI) bring an interconnected trail system to the town by donating a portion of the proceeds from each and every house we sell to TOSCI.
Need a few updates on the trail project? Here’s the latest:
As of March 2018, the Christmas Lake Village-Yellig Trail is almost complete! We love to see the joggers and dog walkers already using this amazing resource, despite the chilly weather. All the trail needs now are a few minor touch ups as the weather improves.
Now the work begins on the Westside Connector. You may have already seen some construction vehicles if you’re a resident running errands or a shopper looking for homes for sale in Christmas Lake Village. According to TOSCI’s website, this three-lane road, with an associated biking and hiking path, is approximately 1/3 of a mile long and runs between IN-245 and IN-162, just west of Kringle Place. The first step in this phase of the trails project is to remove trees to make room for the roadway and trail. This new trail/roadway will connect with the Lincoln Discovery Trail, which will eventually link up with the Lincoln State Parks and Heritage Hills, as well as Kaspar Drive on the west side of Christmas Lake Village. This roadway and trail will not only provide great recreational opportunities and extend the trail network in town, but also provide potential for retail development.

Highlighting the Local Community
We are conducting a series interviews to highlight local businesses, shops, restaurants, and vendors in Santa Claus and the southern Indiana region. We hope these interviews will ensure that visitors and residents alike are aware of our local resources. We’ve chatted with Amy Foertsch, the owner of a chic women’s boutique in Santa Claus called Rayelle Collection. We tasted some excellent Mexican food with Anthony Macias, the owner of Los Dos Charros #2 in nearby, Dale, Indiana. And if you’re looking for a few great attractions to visit in Spencer County, check out our interview with Melissa Arnold, Executive Director of the Spencer County Visitors Bureau.
At Key Associates, we truly appreciate all the gifts these amazing local resources offer our community and if we can bring them a little attention, it’s a win-win! Look for our hashtags #lucky4local or #localfirst on Facebook, or just search for Key Associates of Santa Claus. You can also find us on ParkBench (#parkbenchspencer), a website that will keep you updated with local articles, deals from your favorite businesses, and community events.
Giving Back as Sponsors
In addition to supporting local development through TOSCI and highlighting local resources on social media and websites, we also offer financial support to several other organizations. Key Associates of Santa Claus is a proud sponsor of the Lincoln Amphitheatre, an incredible outdoor venue just a few minutes away from the gates of Christmas Lake Village. Situated in historic and scenic Lincoln State Park, visitors to this 1,500-seat venue can enjoy tasty food and refreshing drinks under the stars. Thanks to their sponsors, the amphitheater will welcome The Guess Who, the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, and a number of cover bands playing hits by Fleetwood Mac, Kiss, the Eagles, and the Beatles.
Key Associates of Santa Claus has also raised money for the North Spencer Community Action Center, a non-profit that provides social services to residents in Spencer County. Services include food and clothing donations, healthcare, utility assistance, educational programs, and more. Their facility in Dale, Indiana, features a clean and spacious thrift store, healthcare offices, a food pantry, and an educational center. Our team at Key participated in a recent Trivia Night to benefit the Center and raised additional funds through our social media channels. We look forward to continuing to support this cause, and others, in the future.
Thanks to all those who are working to keep Santa Claus and Southern Indiana a great place to raise a family. We truly feel #lucky4local and hope you do too!
