Jasper Strassenfest (August 3, 5:00pm - August 6, 2:00pm)
At Downtown Jasper

Well to Jasper, Indiana, home to annual Jasper Strassenfest. People fill our city streets to pay tribute to our German Heritage with a four-day street festival.

The Jasper Strassenfest has everything from carnical rides and games, thrilling events, and loads of entertainment on three downtown stages. Thirsty? We can take care of you at our beer garden.

Brats, lederhosen, polka music and parades- just some of what you will experience at the annual Jasper Strassenfest. Known as one of Indiana’s finest festivals and recently featured on the front cover of the Indiana Festival Guide, the Jasper Strassenfest is a fmaily-friendly street festival celebrating the area’s rich German heritage. Features include Parades, an open-air Biergarten (beer garden), Polka Masses, Art Festival, carnival rides, hot air balloon race, bed race, Autolauf scavenger hunt, a variety of musical entertainment and performances and dozens of unique events for youngsters and those young at heart. Bring your appetite for the variety of food vendors! This annual, well-known German festival celebrates Jasper’s German heritage and is known for its great food and lively atmosphere.

Zoar Mosquito Festival (August 4, 5:00pm – August 6, 7:00pm)
At Zoar United Methodist Church

The annual Zoar Mosquito Fest will be held at Zoar United Methodist church and its picnic grounds. The location is on Old Road 64 two miles west of State Road 161.

A country store, flea market, soft drink pitch and artisans demonstrations will be ongoing throughout both days of the celebration. Each day, visitors can register for a drawing to win a gift basket during the evening entertainments. Registration is free, but the winner must be present when name is drawn.

There is no admission charge for the festival and raffles and alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the grounds.

Movie Night at Yellig Park (August 4, 8:30 pm – 11:30 pm)
At Yellig Park

Join the Santa Claus United Methodist Church and Santa Claus Park & Rec for a movie night that will be out of this galaxy! See a battle amongst the stars at the free, family-friendly movie night. The park will open at 7:00 pm CT and the movie will begin at 8:30 pm CT. Concessions will be available for purchase, or you can pack a picnic for the family.

Sizzlin’ Summerfest (August 5, 6:00 pm – ?)
At Spencer County Fairgrounds

Sizzlin’ Summerfest takes place on Saturday August 5, 2017. At the Sepncer County Fairgrounds in Grandview, Indiana.

This event features a demolition derby, vendors, and food. Gate opens at 6:00 pm CT.

Admission: $5.00 per person. Children under the age of six are free.

Kidney Class (August 3, 12:30 pm)
At Tell City Dialysis Center

There will be a Free Kidney Smart Education class Thursday, August 3, at 12:30 pm. The class is free and open to anyone that’s been diagnosed with kidney disease and family members are encouraged to attend with patients also. For more information contact DaVita Tell City Dialysis Center.

Quarterly Chamber Breakfast (August 3, 7:30 am)
At Ivy Tech Tell City

The quarterly breakfast for members of the Perry County Chamber of Commerce will be held on August 3rd at the Tell City Ivy Tech. The breakfast is being hosted by Waupaca.

Line Dancing (August 3, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
At William Tell Center

The William Tell Center hosts line dancing every Thursday from 6 to 8 pm.

Eldelweisse Ball (August 5, 6:00 pm - 11:00pm)
At Schergens Center

The Edelweiss Ball “Dancing With The Stars” night is the Perry County Museum’s biggest fundraising event of the year and major contributing factor in the operation and upkeep of the museum. Doors will open at 6 pm and there will be a cash bar. A catered meal will be served at 7 pm. Dancing and socializing will continue till after dinner until 11 pm. The Mystical Melody Kings will provide a variety of musical styles for entertainment. For tickets contact any museum board member or Pete Franzman at 812-719-2752
