Quick Draw and Plein Air Art Event (May 12 – 13, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm)
At Schaeffer Barn
Jasper community Arts is hosting its 2017 Quick Draw and Plein Air painting event on the second weekend in May. We invite artists to attend one or both events. Dubois County features many quaint villages, rivers, fields, lakes, monasteries, and much more. Cash prizes and more.
Plein Air Friday, May 12th At the Schaeffer Barn
8:00am – Canvas Stamping for Plein Air (if you are participating both days)
3:30pm – Canvas Stamping for Quick Draw
4:00-6:00pm – Quick Draw Event
6:00-6:30pm– Prepare artwork for judging
6:30 -7:30pm – Judging and awards, silent auction
4:00-9:00pm – Music and cash bar
Join us at the Schaeffer Barn in downtown Jasper, Indiana for this Quick Draw event. Wagons, equipment, flower gardens and fountains. Nearby River walk and industrial area. You do not have to paint in the exact area, but you must be back and ready for judging when the last horn blows.
Auction and silent auction. Music and cash bar to follow.
Saturday, May 13th, at River Walk, Shelter House #4
8:00am-5:00pm Canvas stamping
5:00-5:30pm Frame and prepare your artwork for judging
5:30-6:00pm Plein Air judging and awards.
Check in at shelter house #4 on the Riverwalk at 8:00am. To get your canvases stamped if you didn’t get them stamped the day before. Artists are invited to paint anywhere in Dubois County and to meet back at the shelter house at 5pm for exhibit and awards. Maps will be given to some scenic county sites.

Lap Swim (May 13, 7:30 am – 8:30am)
At Tell City Jr.- Sr. High School
Adult lap swim at the Tell City High School Pool. The cost is $3 and all proceeds benefit the Tell City High School swim program.
Lincoln Land Drone Fest (May 13 10:00am – 4:00pm)
At Jim Yellig Park
The free Lincoln Land Drone Fest will include hands-on demonstrations from area businesses and organizations, including a presentation from the National Guard Military. There will be booths featuring area companies and organizations to educate the public on how drones work and where they can fly, as well as how drones are creating new job opportunities.
This fest is designed around UAS (DRONE) technology and will feature a drone race by the FPV Race League, a professional drone racing organization base in Louisville, Kentucky. The Santa Claus Cup Drone Race will take pilots along a custom figure-eight track, through the woods, and between gates showcasing the story of Abraham Lincoln’s time in Indiana.
